Clio & the Contemporary welcomes pitches from contributors as we look ahead to the 25th anniversary of 9/11 in September 2026.
We welcome a wide range of pitches for articles that explore how 9/11 changed the United States, other countries, and international relations. Suggested topics include but are not limited to mainstream politics, popular culture, war and society, national security, immigration, media, and international alliances. We also welcome contributions in the form of lesson plans and syllabi centered on 9/11.
Pitch us your idea below. After consulting with our editorial team, eventual submissions (due in summer 2026) can range from 800 to 4000 words.
This will be a significant sub-series of our wider 2026 Anniversary series, rolling out in the first 11 days of September. The 9/11 series will help provide context and analysis from historians alongside timely buzz generated in media outlets.
