Ryan Coogler's Sinners forces audiences to confront much larger themes in Black American history such as debates over conflicting visions of liberation and various interpretations of Black American religious experience.
This course introduces students to the history of emotions and senses. Students explore theories and methods for studying emotions in history, as well as scholarship on emotions or senses in specific historical contexts.
Practicing history as part of a state agency can be challenging, especially for a historic prison. This article uses Idaho as a case study to outline some of those challenges, and how historians must contend with conservative governments, racist pasts, and difficult prison history.
