Ted Forsyth is a sociology PhD student in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He is a co-founder of the Upstate New York Policing Research Consortium (https://uny-prc.org/) with Drs. Mallory Szymanski and Laura Warren Hill. In 2021, he earned his master’s degree in criminal justice from Rochester Institute of Technology. From 2017 to 2019, he participated in a movement to pass legislation creating the Rochester Police Accountability Board. In 2017, he co-authored the community report “The Case for an Independent Police Accountability System: Transforming the Civilian Review Process in Rochester, New York,” with Barbara Lacker-Ware. He lives in Rochester with his family.
